Proverbs 12:15

This week's memory verse:

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel. Proverbs 12:15

Wow, this week I had a really hard time memorizing. I don't know why, just one of those weeks I suppose. Thank God it wasn't a few weeks ago when we had that big 4 sentence verse!

The Changeling

Nick, Gammy & I watched the Clint Eastwood movie, The Changeling last night. I really didn't know what it was about other than a little boy goes missing and when he comes back his mother (Angelina Jolie) says it's not him. Well, it starts off by stating that it's a true story. Oh my goodness.. This movie is HEART-WRENCHING! Seriously, Nick is not a sensitive man, in fact I wish he were a tad bit, but he's just not. And he just sat still for several minutes after this movie thinking...and thinking... If you have not seen this you then you have to watch it! Especially parents. It will really take you back in time to realize how different things were and how privileged we are now. This all took place very close to where Nick grew up too. You will go from worried, to sad, to mad, to just frustrated and angry, to happy and relieved, to confused, to frustrated and angry again, to hopeful. It is a very emotional movie so get your Kleenexes!

Educational oppurtunity for teachers

I am posting this for one of my most favorite people!

The Division of Forestry sponsors a week long event known as the teacher's tour- it is held in Fernandina and the recipients spend a week at the Hampton downtown with field trips everyday regarding forestry issues- The teachers see everything from pulp mills, logging, prescribed fire to private land owners in clay county- all with the goal of showing teachers how important forestry is and ways they can incorporate that into their classroom-

I am giving the link below to the application

http://www.floridastateforests.org/calenderofevents.html

Please pass it around to ANY teacher you know. They prefer science/math teachers but there is really no one requirement- they have accepted anyone from elementary to high school, in subjects from art to science. It really is an awesome tour and the teachers get all kinds of goodies to take back to the students... even if they already think they know everything about logging - you will be amazed at how much actually goes back to forestry. If you need more info or would like to contact my friend with more questions I'd be happy to share her phone number with you.

Taken

Nicky & I went out last night on our valentines date. We caught a movie and dinner. There are a few good movie choices out but at the top of our list was Taken with Liam Neeson. We had seen the previews on TV about a month ago and knew it was a must see! Let me just say WOW, backwards, WOW, upside down, MOM, WOwowowWOwowow! It was intense!!! Here's the scoop:

The seventeen year-old Kim is the pride and joy of her father, the retired agent Bryan Mills that left the secret service to stay near Kim in California. Kim lives with her mother Lenore and her wealthy stepfather Stuart; she convinces the reluctant Bryan to sign an authorization to travel to Paris with her friend Amanda. When they arrive, they share a cab with the stranger Peter and Amanda tells to him that they are alone in Paris. When Bryan succeeds in contacting his daughter, she tells that criminals have just break in the spot and they are kidnapped by an Albanese gang of human trafficking. Bryan promises in the phone to kill the kidnapper of his daughter and immediately travels to Paris to find Kim and chase the criminals.

We tried to use our J.Alexanders gift card but the wait was too long so we went to Qdoba = YUMMY. We had a great time. Happy Valentines Day!

To bang or not to bang?

OK, I need some serious help. Step one is admitting it right? Well up until about 11 years ago I had bangs. Then for some reason, which I don't remember, I decided to let them grow out. I did get them cut again when Roman was a baby but only for as long as it took to grow them out again. Since then I have had conflicting opinions from those close to me. SOME say, "NO! You have the perfect forehead (six-head in my case) to be bangless because some foreheads are too small to go without them and they HAVE to wear them." OTHERS say, "GIRL, you need some bangs" (some are more blunt than others.) One of my dear friends who has known me banged and bangless (does that make any sense???) said she likes either, just NOT to do the version I had when Roman was a baby. Thanks a lot Friend! Anyway, I need to do something with this mushroom that has developed on my head. I thank you all who have been kind and not said anything, but true friends don't let other friends grow mushrooms you know. So, can I get some input? With Valentines Day coming up it made me think of Valentines Day 11 years ago, when Nick proposed. Which of course, made me think of all the changes in the last 11 years, good and bad. Well, some things will never be the same, good and bad again. And some things will take a while to improve. But the hair, I always had good hair, how did it come to this?! I'll be calling Lisa at Zan's soon. First I would like to decide what to do. I am in the process of growing it out. I'm thinking side bangs?? Should I bang?

Proverbs 22:7

Our memory verse for week#3:

Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender.

God bless you this weekend! Hope you all have a great Valentines Day!

1 Chronicles 29:11-12

Everything in the heavens and earth is Yours, O Lord, and this is Your kingdom. We adore You as being in control of everything. Riches and honor come from you alone, and you are the ruler of all mankind. Your hand controls power and might, and it is at Your discretion that men are made great and given strength.

That's my memory verse this week..WOW..so far I have the first three lines, working on the last line today and tomorrow. This verse is like WOWOWOWOWOW! I mean I knew he was is control of everything, but meditate on that for a week! Everything......EVERYTHING!!!!!

Can't add my pretty new signature because I'm a dork and can't figure out how to do it without the box showing around it. Anyone interested in helping me?
