Day #14 I am thankful for

being born again!

Music has always been a big part of my life. Unfortunately I have no musical talent, but it has always been an influence. When I was a little girl I was influenced by Styx & Kiss because that's what my big brother listened to. When I was old enough to choose my own music I gravitated towards Shaun Cassidy, Duran Duran & Pat Benatar. As a teenager I opted for hip hop & rap. "It takes two to make a thing go right........It takes two to make it outta sight." I had the ultimate 'boom' in my 300zx as a young woman, turning heads as I drove by. Then I fell in love with a bass player for a metal band and followed him from club to club as they did cover tunes for Pearl Jam, Yngwie Malmsteen, and others.. I stayed in that mode for 3 years, until that boyfriend of mine asked Christ in to his life in the middle of the night watching Jack Hagee on tv. At the time we lived together in an apartment in Baymeadows. There was quite a change in his life, none of which I understood. I moved home with my mom. My boyfriend quit the band & continued to share the message of Christ with me for a year. The day he gave up & told the Lord it was His problem now (unbeknownst to me) I bowed down in my bedroom, alone, & asked God to help me understand the plan He has for my life. To forgive me & make me new. That day I was born again. This song reminds me of that time. Isn't that what music does? It takes us to a place? What kind of place does your music take you to?

You Must Be Born Again Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him." Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?" Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."
